Slates

Slates

Originally launched by Levis Strauss in 1996, the Slates brands targeted professional men seeking stylish and comfortable clothing for an increasingly casual workplace. Levis promoted its new brand with a $22 million magazine ad campaign featuring real entrepreneurs photographed in action wearing the full line of Slates clothing. Slates achieved early success by tapping into the laid back style pioneered by dot com entrepreneurs who focused on productivity over a formal work environment.

Slates initial clothing line focused on dress shirts, sweaters, and comfortable slacks made from blended wool and microfiber fabrics. Slates clothing was distinctively less formal than dress attire, while still suitable for the office.

The Slates Brand is available for licensing on men's clothing.
